Obituary of Rose Hatala

Our family sadly regrets the unexpected passing of Rose Hatala, on December 29, 2006, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Rose was born in the community of St. Julien, Saskatchewan, on Aug. 24, 1951 to Peter and Mary Bodnarchuk.Rose attended school at Wakaw Sask. and the University of Sask., prior to moving to Calgary, Hudson Hope (1972) and finally to Cranbrook (1974) to the present date.
Prior to her illness Rose had been employed by Crestbrook (Tembec)for approximately 13 years.Love, faith and the pursuit of happiness are but a few words that would describe Rose's journey through life. Her positive spirit affected everyone she met and her family and friends were the jewels of her being.
Rose was many things to many people, offering love, support and encouragement to those she encountered. Rose had enjoyed sports, which included fastball, skiing, racket ball, hiking and tennis while in the later years, needle point, quilting, sewing, reading, music and gardening were her passions.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Jerry, her sons: Jared, James and Matt/(Michelle Caldwell - Ft St John), sisters: Nancy Maskewich (Regina), Audrey/Cliff Johnson (Prince Albert), brothers: Eugene Bodnarchuk (Calgary) , John/Marg Bodnarchuk (Prince Albert), as well her many nieces , nephews, inlaws and friends.
Rose was predeceased by her brother Mike (1968), mother Mary (1986) and her father Peter (1991).
A Vigil Service will be held Thursday January 4, 2007 at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 5, 2007 at 10:45 am. Both Services will be held at Christ The Servant Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Scleroderma Association of B.C, Box 218, Delta Main, Delta B.C., V4K 3N7 .
