My heartfelt condolences to Gerry's family for their loss.
Gerry was my cousin and I'll always remember his incredible talent in playing his guitar and singing "House of the Rising Sun" (Eric Burdon and the Animals).
I think of him (and always have) every time I hear the song.
Hope you're up in Heaven singing and playing your guitar and dancing your heart out Gerry.
Janice (Miller) McGrath

Although we didn't know Gerry for very long we will miss him very much. His gentle sense of humor and efforts to boast our confidence as beginning dancers was memorable. Our best wishes and condolences to Clare.

We were so saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. We loved his enthusiasm for all things dance and his "go for it" attitude. Nothing stood in his way when he wanted to achieve something. He and Claire made a great couple and added so much to the Cranbrook dance scene. Although we aren't there to enjoy dancing in the Kootenays we always thought we would be able to come back someday and meet up again. Our sincere condolences to Claire and the family along with some wonderful memories of our times with Gerry.

Gerry Dalum was, with his wife, the amazing Clare Bailey, our dance instructor at DanceWithMe. They gave us the gifts of the pleasure of dance and the confidence to dance. They gave us and so many others far more than that - hospitality, community, dinners for dance friends, Christmas and New Year's parties, free lessons for Flash Mob dancing where we could strut our stuff - and sometimes tuna and salmon, brought back from Gerry's fishing trips. When Gerry left us, he left a dance community, built and nurtured over the past number of years. We will miss hearing him clearing his throat as he advanced on us to correct a step or a move, or to tell us to "step intentionally". We will miss watching Gerry and Clare dance with joy and flair. We will all weep when next we dance. We have their gifts to keep. Our condolences to Clare and to Gerry's family.

Gerry was one of the first people we met when we moved to Cranbrook. We loved his quirky sense of humour. We were thrilled to see him find such happiness with Clare, and we feel for her great loss. To the family, you have our deepest condolences. Karen and Trevor
