Obituary of Annette Margaret Brown

Please share a memory of Annette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We lost a beautiful soul, Annette Margaret Brown (nee Livingstone) on March 7, 2019. She will forever remain in the hearts of her children Darrin (Holly), Wayne, Linnea (Jason) and her partner of 17 years, Ole Hansen. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Rebecca, Dominica, Tate, Keaton, Peyton, Kiara, Karson, also her brother and sisters Ronnie, Dawn and Sandi (Doreen), many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Annette was born on December 10, 1944 in Kimberley, BC. During her childhood she was known as the social butterfly of Morrison Sub where she made many lifelong friends. She was very active and athletic, participating in many different sports, primarily figure skating. Becoming quite an accomplished figure skater, she went on to tour with the Ice Capades shortly after graduating. She spent most of her adulthood in Cranbrook where she took pride and joy in raising her family. She worked for Save-on-Foods doing the price check at Safeway for 30 + years, where she enjoyed socializing and finding the best deal to save a buck. "Netsy" had a passion for the outdoors especially camping, huckleberry picking and spending time up the Bull River. Many trips were made to Mexico and her favourite part of her travels was the people she met. She loved having everyone over for dinner and was extra happy if she got to get a card game or 2 in afterwards! Her bridge games and bowling league were two favourite activities she looked forward to every week, making many special friends along the way. Annette lived her life with love, kindness, warmth, enthusiasm and gratitude. She felt everything with her whole heart, expressing this with tears of joy and sadness at even the smallest thing. She was very giving and continued to give at the end of her life by donating her organs to 3 individuals. She would have been delighted to have given this gift. We are thankful for and cherish memories of her laugh (that was often followed up with a great big snort), her birthday song over the phone, her decorative Christmas sweaters and holiday themed earrings, her words such as "don't sweat the small stuff" and "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all", and her fun twist on the English language! The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of those who had a kind word to share about Annette and for their support given over this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held for Annette on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2PM at The Fort Steele Windsor Hotel. Memorial donations in honour of Annette may be made to the S.P.C.A. for those wishing to do so.
