Obituary of Ruby Elizabeth Onda

(nee Drotar)

November 27, 1927 - July 2, 2012

The family of Ruby Onda are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Ruby on July 2, 2012 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Ruby was born in Stockholm, Saskatchewan where she met her loving husband Frank during a community dance. Ruby and Frank moved to BC in October 1961.

Ruby is predeceased by her husband Frank Onda (February 11, 1995), her mother Elizabeth Drotar, father Steve Drotar, brother Joseph Drotar, daughter-in-law Donna Onda. Ruby is survived by daughter Marlene (Ernie) Desrosiers, son Larry (Darla) Onda, grandaughter de Anna (Stephen) Romanick, grandson Frank (Kelly) Desrosiers, grandson Mickeal (Jalene) Onda, granddaughter Susan (Rob) Onda, step-granddaughter Wendy (Jason) Campbell, stepgrandson Rob (Mara) Campbell and many, many great grandchildren.

The family wish to thank Dr. Ries and the nursing staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

A Celebration Of Ruby's Life will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 am. Luncheon to follow and interment at the Jaffray Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
