To all of you, I extend my sincerest condolences on your loss of a wonderful soul. I met Wayne in the early 80's when I started at CFI. And either worked or shared our relationship until we were shut down in 2012. He was a man of very few words, but when he spoke, you had better tune in and listen, because what he had to say, he was deeply committed to it. I believe your loss is rather painfull at the moment, and I can relate with your feelings, but although gone he will always be with you, either in your minds, or in your hearts.rest in peace Wayne, God bless you.

I vaguely remember Wayne, but I do remember Donna, Holly and Wanda. We were close neighbours on 13th Avenue a long time ago. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother. Debbie (Pretty) Allen

I first met Wayne in the early 70's and many beverages were shared over the years. Although I don't remember giving him a ride to the Crestbrook office the day he applied for a job there, for many years afterward he would remind me and say something to the affect "it's all your fault I'm still there!" in his gruff way but with a little grin under his beard. He'll be blowing in the mountain breezes forever. So long Man.

Every fishing and hunting trip, and there were many, was a journey into philosophy - a study of nature's cycles, social commentary, political critique - culminating in Wayne's amazingly insightful questions, about the why and how of everything.
The crusty, red-neck millworker was the shell some only saw. But to those he trusted and befriended, his wit, sense of irony, curiosity and astute perceptions were a wonderful and deep offering that I and others will dearly miss. Forty-three years of friendship and enlightenment in Moyie...

I worked with Wayne for many years at the sawmill in Cranbrook, always had good conversations. Wayne had a great sense of humor and an easy going manner. He will be missed by many. Please let us know when your celebration of life will be. I would like to attend.

I will keep Wayne in my thoughts and heart. He loved learning about the world through reading and talking to people. In a way, you could say he travelled the world through his reading and interests.I often told him about Jewish dishes like gefitle fish or some other topic that he was curious about and sometimes he saved a trout for me or a whitefish as he knew Ioved them. He was a gentle soul and was my neighbour.
This past summer I had to call on Wayne to help me with Mr or Mrs skunk, as they were attacking our bees and Brian was away. I joked that he could practice his sharp shooting skills, which of course he did. Unfortunately they still emitted a tiny smell which of course lasted the entire day so I couldn't venture even near the area. We almost got to be skunk experts, of what worked in trapping them etc, we had a few laughs as we both peeked around the corner of the shop not wanting to get to close, planning strategies. skunk tales- somebody got to tell them.
I was thankful for Wayne doing the dirty deed-unfortunately it was bees or skunks.
My heartfelt sympathies and respect to the family
