Cranbrook without Bud Abbott. . . ? It will never be the same, but it will be so much better for the memories so many of us have of Bud. As so many said in Tributes, he was a true gentleman. I always felt that he really was glad to see me, and we always had a chat. His stage accomplishments were so honest and so excellent. I once joined I-don't-know-how-many other women who had been Bud's wife on stage. He was exciting to work with, on stage and off, and he helped many, many people in many ways. My sincerest condolences to his family, and to so many people who always felt better after joining in one of his singsongs.
Anne Edwards.

We lived not far from your dad on Westwood Drive from 1994 until 2005. He would often take our dog "Kedo" along with his own for long walks. Also remember him singing Christmas Carols door to door in the neighborhood. Condolences to all of you at the loss of a special man.

Dear Bud,
WHAT A GIFT YOU HAVE BEEN!...A GIFT in a music box that played stories and songs, gave us comedy and drama, laughter and tears, a generous invitation to find the best in ourselves and the wider world.
If all the millionaires in this world gathered together all their financial resources, their legacy would not be a patch on the legacy of love and laughter, sharing, caring and committment to community that you lived everyday.
I am saddened by the loss of your physical presence. I already miss hearing you say, "Gerri, Good to see you." ..but..I have a huge vault of precious memories on which I may draw forever. I will remember you well, Bud and you will not be lost to me.
With Respect and Love for all Bud has given........
With Love and Respect for All Buds Family as you go forward.........
Sincerely,
Gerri Atchison.

A wonderful man that share the stage with me so many times in Years Gone by. Such a touch of heaven and sunshine is what he was. I am blessed to have be able to Act and sing with him. One play in particular was My Fair Lady. I was Eliza Doolittle and he was my father and I will always remember the good times we all spent together with him. I will always remember that special smile he had and the countless unselfish hours he spent making the community so much better. I will miss you Bud. I was Patty Keen in those days.

I performed with Bud in the Opera The Magic Flute out at Fort Steele theatre and had to help him change costume and get him back on stage. It went well until it came to tieing up his belt and I had to almost follow him back on stage. Every time we saw each other around town we laughed at the situation. He was a great man to work/play with. Donna Alexander

Worked with Bud in the 1970's, he was the office manager of an insurance broker then. Enjoyed his sense of humor. Remember the story he told about performing on stage in one of the hotels and he could smell smoke - we had the place insured - but had to wait until he could get off stage to check it out - someone had stuffed a towel in one the lights? We all attended a company barbecue/picnic and Bud & Linda brought more toys and games than the rest of us with kids did. He will be missed by many!

I am grateful for every time I was able to share the stage with one of the most remarkable, warm-hearted, dedicated performers I've ever met. Bud never failed to surprise me with his verve and fearlessness, and I saw him in a wide range of characters. One of my favourites, though, was at a celebration of the Studio Stage Door (which he was instrumental in preserving for the community), in which he appeared in a wedding dress to sing a woeful song of being left at the alter. The audience roared with delight, and rightly so.
I believed he would outlive us all. If spirit, guff and good humour were the keys to everlasting life, we would have him forever. Godspeed, Bud. You were one of a kind.
