My deep condolences to all of you. The moment I read about Carmen's new journey, I felt her presence sweeping through her old haunts like a breeze of awareness. The mountains, trees and streams of Cassiar seemed to already know somehow. Her touch and thoughtfulness are lasting, beyond our concepts of time and mortality. Her battle was fought with the passion and virtue of a true warrior. I will always admire and love her vigil and spirit. Free at last - come to visit anytime, dear Carmen.

Carmen was one of the "beautiful people " our own Mother was fortunate enough to have had for a "buddy" during the time she resided at Joseph Creek . Carmen was the light of encouragement to not only Mom but also to many other of her fellow residents when they moved in to her " neighbourhood" . She always could find an upside to negativity. Mom cherished her friendship as well as her competitive nature when it came down to a rousing game of crib . Carmen will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.... at any level . We were so appreciative for her being the kind of friend our Mom " Mae" needed . Despite Carmen's own challenges, she was a beautiful example of love, acceptance and tolerance for everyone and everything around her .
