Alan Lea Jarvis "Uncle Saa" 1951-2018 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Alan Jarvis announces his passing on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Cranbrook at 67 years of age. Alan was born on September 17, 1951 in Souris, PEI. He worked for the BC Bldg. Corp. for 25 + years. In his retirement he had a mission to collect as many littered bottles, cans, etc. for recycling and could be seen in his trusty old white hat walking the rural roads of Cranbrook and area. For many years he panned for gold in the Fort Steele area and all he ever found was Fools Gold and he said the right guy found it! Alan loved to travel and made it a point to send postcards to his family and friends from wherever he was. He was one lucky Keno player as well! He was an avid TV watcher and was King of the Remote. A few of his favourite sayings were "Ouch Yourself" and "What?, don't say what, pay attention". Alan is survived by his brother Earl Shepherd (Carol), sister Patricia Joyce Magee, sister Elizabeth Chayer (Cliff) and brother Fred Jarvis (Bonnie); nieces and nephews Randy Magee, Brent Magee, Andrew Magee, Clancy Baldwin, Colleen Baldwin, Wanda Jarvis, Janice Jarvis, Chris Jarvis, Nikki Jarvis, Byron Shepherd, Florence Sanderson and many great-nieces and nephews. He was an awesome uncle to them all. Alan was predeceased by his father Wilfred Earle Jarvis, his mother Rosella Jarvis (nee Conway),his brother Weldon Earle Jarvis, infant brother Wayne and infant sister Mary, his brothers-in-law Huck Magee and Wes Baldwin and sister-in-law Geraldine Jarvis. A family gathering to celebrate Alan's life will be held at a later date in Kelowna, BC. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. The family asks that you please pick up a can or bottle off the road in his memory. Rest in Peace Pooh Bear! Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
