Harvey,Judy, Charlene, Harvey and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a great friend to my mom,Glennis, especially towards the end when mom passed in 2013. Glennis spoke highly of Mae and considered her a special person. I am sure they are sitting together and having a great bull session.
Love

Memories, as a friend of Sharlene I was also one who experienced the fried tomatoes in Mabel's kitchen. Not sure how much I liked them then but love them now 50 years later. Mabel always made you feel at home and be a part of whatever was happening at the moment. She was a loving person and will be missed.

One of my most endearing memories was seeing Mae and Hardy dancing on the ballroom floor at Aggie's Fall Fling 3 years ago. Something both Hardy and Mae clearly loved to do, it also showed how much Mae was being caregiven by her loving husband Hardy. Mae was in great hands being cared for by Joseph Creek's staff and by hardy's steadfast support for her care. Mae, may your spirited life continue to live on through the legacy you left with Hardy and your children.

Hardy, Sharlene,Judy & family....
So sorry for your loss....
We always enjoyed getting together with aunt Mae whenever we could. Always shared lots of laughs & remembering old times. While we're sad I'm thinking mom is elated to once again see her baby sister. I'm sure it'll be quite the reunion.
Almost every time I talked to her on the phone she'd ask, "how's my girl" meaning our daughter Erin...I think Erin reminded her of herself....lots of spunk !
Thinking of you all with love & sympathy,
Linda & Norm

I've known Mabel almost my entire life. Through the countless hours I spent in her Vernon home as Sharlene's friend, she became like a second mother to me. Mabel had a zest for life, certainly no wallflower, Mabel loved country & western music, dancing to it and singing her favourites. Mabel was forthright in her opinions & we girls toed the line. When she had the odd weekend off she would cook us breakfast, my first fried tomatoes were enjoyed at her kitchen table and a new treat, to me at least, peanut butter & jam! Who knew! We always stopped in the shoe department at The Bay for a quick chat, then onto Ladies Wear for the same with my Aunt Marion. So many years later Mabel would stop by my work in Cranbrook for a quick chat. My Mother moved to Cranbrook into Joseph Creek Village as well so it was only natural to visit & sit together at the weekly musicales. That's a lifelong friendship! With all our love to Sharlene, Judy & Don & family, Mark & I send our deepest condolences. I feel privileged to have been a small part of a life so fully lived & one that will be dearly missed.
