Mrs. MacDonald was my teacher way back in Grade 6 at Muriel Baxter. She wouldn't let me get away with just coasting along. She always pushed me to be better, especially the neatness of my work, but did it in a very supportive way. I will always remember her as one of my most influential teachers. Karen was a popular, respected classmate of the Grad Class of 1958. She was a High Achiever, versatile, and so nice to be with. We were grateful for her presence and contributions at our Grad Class Reunions, and looked forward to July, 2018, when we would reunite in Kimberley, and ride The Float together.in the July Fest Parade, as we had done many times before. Dear Christine and Rich, Your Mother was like a sister to me. I met her four seasons ago in Ajijic. The things we had in common was almost scary...even our wedding anniversary date was the same. Dear Christine, Richie and family, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your Mother. She always made me feel so welcome in your home and was genuinely interested in my desire to become a teacher. My best memory of Mrs. MacDonald was the time she spent teaching me how to make change in my head. I remember sitting at her kitchen table where she would create monetary transactions that gave me the practice I needed to become an efficient cashier. To this day, whenever I notice a retail clerk relying on their computer to calculate change, I think of 'Karen Mac' with a smile. Cherish the memories of your Mom.
