Obituary of Kenneth Gregory Roberts

Kenneth Gregory Roberts "Ken" August 19, 1928 - March 30, 2018 Ken Roberts passed away peacefully at the FW Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook BC, with his family by his side. Ken was born in the St. Eugene Hospital in Cranbrook, the last and 15th child to Dan "Donald" and Mabel Roberts. Ken spent many years falling trees and operating equipment before moving on to work at the Skookumchuck Pulp Mill. Ken grew up loving the outdoors. Hunting, cutting wood and ice fishing were some of his favorite pass times along with spending time with the love of his life, Barbara Mae Roberts (nee Leask). Ken and Barb made Wasa Lake their home and raised their four children there. They always had the kettle on for coffee, and food for family and friends. Ken is predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara, his 14 siblings and his parents. Ken is survived by his children Gail (Wayne) McDonald, Melanie (Dave) Fiorentino, Ben (Fran) Roberts and Brandy (Mike) Hoglund; grandchildren Shannon (Grant) Stewart, Shayne (Shannon) McDonald, Kim (Jason) Organ, Kori-Ann (Chris) Fiorentino-Kuhl, Hailey Roberts and Braydon Hoglund; great grandchildren Shea, Breanna, Isaac, Charlee and Jaxon. A celebration of Ken's life will be announced once the date, time and location have been selected. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations are made in Ken's memory to the Cranbrook/Kimberley Hospice Society or Ginger's Legacy. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
