He represented the East and West Kootenay regions as VP of the BCPFFA (BC Professional Fire Fighters Association). Clayton was the Vice President of the Pine Ridge Roping Club. He had an immense passion for roping which he and Joan spent every waking moment doing together. Clay loved spending time at the family cabin, sitting around the campfire singing and playing his guitar. Clay and Joan were married on October 6, 2005. It was evident the love they had for each other. Clay was known for his infectious smile, signature mustache and teasing. He loved to tease anybody he knew. Clay was very caring, kind, non-judgemental and strong. He was "the rock" of his family and friends. His humble nature made him even more special. He had that "we can do better" positive outlook. Clay is survived by his children who he absolutely loved and was so proud of, Dysen and Kirsten, (Brandon and Brayden), his stepchildren Aaron (Hayley) and Andrew (Tasha) and was a loving Papa to Shaide, Aubrey, Grady and Felix.
