Obituary of Christine Joanne Long

(née Dugan) 1949 - 2017

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Christine Joanne Long announce her passing on Monday, August 7, 2017.

Christine was born on November 29, 1949, in Pincher Creek, Alberta. Mom had a big heart and loved to spend her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. While well known for her love of cooking, singing, awesome organ and accordion playing, she also enjoyed wine-making, walks in the forest, fishing and picking mushrooms. Her passion for her doll collection was proudly displayed in her home for all to see.

She will be fondly remembered with a drink in her hand and a smile on her face, and dearly missed by her spouse Barry, her daughters Jackie and Joanna, her sons Ray, Al, Joe, Bill and Shawn, and her brothers Tony and Joe Dugan, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane We'd walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again."

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, at 1:00 pm, at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Interment will follow. A reception in honour of Christine will follow at 3:00 pm at 1537 - Jim Smith Lake Road.
