Obituary of Barbara Jean Walls

1942 - 2010

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Barbara Walls on Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Barb was born on January 16, 1942 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia and moved to Cranbrook in the early 1960's. Barbara worked at the F. W. Green Memorial Home for many years and loved her work and the residents there. Since her retirement, Barb was very involved with volunteering as a candy striper, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Barb leaves to mourn her passing her son Ken (Angie) Walls and daughter Shari (Ian) Bowen, both of Okanagan Falls; and daughter Cathy Walls of New Westminster. Barbara had three grandchildren she was very proud of: Nicole and Emily Bowen and Jesse Walls. Barb will also be sorely missed by her cousins Dorothy Hinton and Doug and Sheila Hinton. Barb was predeceased by her mother and father Catherine and Art Hinton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and had many valuable friends.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

 

"Lord help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today

that You and I together can't handle," was a favourite saying of Barb's.

 

Though she may be gone she will forever be in our hearts and memories.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm at McPherson's Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Those wishing to remember Barb may do so by making a donation in her memory to the: Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary Society, 30 - 8th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2K3.
