Hey Uncle Burt, Throughout my younger years I only managed to sped such a limited time in your life. But am so glad to have been apart of it. Listening to the stories and wisdom you had to share, has helped me grow and understand the world as it is today. Rest in peace. Hopefully someday, I can touch lives as much as you did mine.

Just spotted Burt.s obit. Very sorry to hear of his passing. We worked together at CKEK Radio in 1978-79. I found Burt to be a good mentor and a friend. He was one of the best play-by-play announcers around and I was privileged to work with him doing a Kimberly-Cranbrook game. The last time I spoke to him was by phone when I visited Cranbrook two years ago. We had a great time reminiscing about our times in Cranbrook radio. Sorry for your loss.

I have been Burt's barber for the last 20 years. Oh, the stories he could tell. I knew that when I booked Burt for a haircut it would be a long one. He knew every band that graced Cranbrook way back when...and practically all their names. Burt will be missed. Thank you DeAnn for sharing him with me. H.T.

Bert was pleasure to work with at EK Radio. "Turn on your speaker, here is a Western tune, just for you", he would call me on the speaker phone. Spending those years from 1979 to 1993 in the accounting and the 'radio gang' have great memories for me.
Condolences to Deann and the family. Inez

"Burt gave me a reason to smile during my four years in Cranbrook. The camaraderie, fun, laughs and fond memories of doing commercials, bantering back and forth with him on location at remotes, and the hilarious lunch meetings with him and the gang at EK Radio will always be a part of me. Burt was indeed, one of the nicest and funniest guys I have ever met."

I met Burt when I was in high school. He and Gary Cavers had just bought a food shop - we sold ice cream and burgers and I worked there. They called the place Fuzzies n Fizzies. This along with the two of them working at the local radio station meant lots of fun and music! Burt you brought laughter and fun to a teenager when there were times that it was hard being a teenager with all the angst the time brought.
My life has been enriched for having known Burt for such a short time. People come into your life for a reason - short or long term. Cherish the time you do get with them as you never know when they will have to go.
Blessings to you Burt and comfort to your family. I know that you will be missed and your spirit with be with us as we speak your name.
