Obituary of Colin Hartley Newman

Colin Hartley Newman 1933 - 2017 Colin was born in New Brunswick on August 31, 1933 to Everett and Olga Newman. He started his career logging out in the East and switched to roofing when he moved out West to Alberta. Colin settled in Cranbrook where he met the love of his life Doreen. They married in 1982. Colin and Doreen moved to many different towns after they married but they kept returning to Cranbrook. It was home. Colin enjoyed his retirement in the Kootenays. He loved the outdoors and the beautiful snowy landscape. Colin was called home to be with the Lord at 83 years of age on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He is now dancing with his mom Olga in Heaven. Colin is survived by his loving wife Doreen of 34 years, his sister Rhona (Martin) and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Everett and Olga Newman, his baby sister, Rhona, his brother Eldon Matchett Sr. and by Eldon Matchett Jr., his nephew. A graveside service for Colin will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 am.
