I just heard that Alfred has passed. "THe gentle giant" I will always remember his twinkling eyes as he asked me "what kind of a weed are you planting now." My sincere sympathies go out to you, Inge! Your little neighbour on 6th street ,Karen

Our condolences to the whole Nimmert family and especially to my sister Inge. May God give you peace at this very difficult time.
Life is precious. We have many years of beautiful memories with Alfred being part of our family. All of our kids were born in Cranbrook and we spent a lot of family time with the Nimmert family. All of us loved Alfred. He always called me his "sorry sister-in-law", because I always seemed to find a reason to say "I am sorry".
Life was not always easy. We had moved to Calgary and loved to visit with Inge and Alfred. We spent time going to church together. Before leaving for home we often spent time in prayer and sang hymns together. He was such a wonderful singer.
His last two years were difficult for him and even though we will miss him we know that God took him home to a better life than here on earth.
Wolfgang and Helga

Alfred, Inge and family welcomed and loved us from the time we first met on that Sunday in 1980. We treasure memories of the times spent exploring the area and just being together with our "family away from family". Will never forget the twinkle in the eye or words of encouragement. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Alfred's family at this time. May your treasure trove of memories bring comfort. May God fill your hearts with His peace bringing true joy. Love and hugs, Doug and Rachel Barkley

It is hard to imagine a world without Uncle Alf in it! He will always hold a special place in my heart! My favorite memories include hearing his booming voice singing in the shower, seeing him smile with a twinkle in his eye, and feeling abundantly loved every time I was in his presence. How beautiful that this is not the end. His faith in Christ led to an abundant life on earth and an eternal life in heaven, where we shall one day meet again! Love you Uncle Alf! You will be missed but I'm grateful that your suffering is over and you are once again ALIVE and WELL!

Opa was a kind, gentle, loving soul. My special memory was when he drove the limo for our family when Lyle died. Opa and Oma were the first family to welcome our family to the Baptist family when we moved to Cranbrook in 1980. Nimmert family you are in my prayers at this time. Love you.
Maureen Phillips and family.

My heart is with your family at this very sad time. I was very honoured to know Mr. Nimmert since we moved to Cranbrook in 1967. Your family immediately welcomed ours into the Baptist Church family and our parents have been friends ever since. May you find comfort in sharing your best memories of him with each other.
