Obituary of Judy Louise Luke

Judy Louise Luke "Bird" April 24th, 1947 - October 13th, 2016 Judy passed away at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 69 years of age on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 surrounded by her family. Judy was born in Victoria, BC. She grew up on the island moving to the Kootenay's in the late 1970's were she met the love of her life Ernest "Ernie" and raised their son Brent. She began working at the Fernie Hospital - where she would stay for 20 years. After the passing of her husband Ernie in 1992 Judy moved to Cranbrook and began working at the F. W. Green Home for a few years before retiring. Judy devoted her retirement to spending time with her family and many friends as well as traveling, including a monumental trip to her beloved Ireland which she treasured so much. Judy is survived by her loving son Brent (Charlene) of Sparwood, her grandchildren Ethan and Andrea Luke as well as many cousins. She is predeceased by her loving husband Ernest Luke and her parents Arthur and Iris Gilhuly. A memorial service to honour Judy's life will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
